Presentations

Keynote: Christianity in the Modern World
Is Truth today the same as Truth two thousand years ago? There is a growing skepticism and misunderstanding about the moral truths the Church has always taught. How can these be relevant in modern life and can we justify life away from this Truth? Can ,Christianity help us and others to know moral truth and live it?

Keynote: The Family Today
The Christian family is in distress. Catholics are marrying at the same low rate as the rest of society and are divorcing at close to the same high rate. With an awareness of the vocation of husband and wife, and the importance of a Christcentered family, how do the theological virtues of faith, hope and charity promote stronger marriages, healthier families, and a more active parish and community life.

Purgatory and the Wedding of the Lamb (presented by Fr. Timothy Naples - Pastor of Most Holy Trinity Parish)
Is Purgatory just an invention of the Catholic Church? This term cannot be found in scripture, so how do we rectify this belief? Paul tells us that, when we are judged, a righteous man's work will be tried and if not found to pass "He will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire" (1 Cor 3:15). As if preparing for a wedding feast, we must cleanse ourselves completely before entering the presence of God and only after this final purification of the elect can we be welcomed into the Wedding of the Lamb.

Evangelizing Like St. Francis (presented by Fr. Richard O'Donnell - Pastor of Christ the King - St. Anthony Parish)
Evangelization is one of the most difficult things God calls each of us to, but there is hope. Drawing inspiration from St. Francis in more ways than one, our new pope shows us a beautiful vision of genuine Christianity. And in this tradition, Pope Francis is working diligently for the renewal of a church "in ruins." He challenges us to remember, "...one cannot proclaim the Gospel of Jesus without the tangible witness of one's life.", so thusly he relays the call of Jesus to "Rebuild My Church!"

Serving Others with Faith (presented by Ms. Marie Antunes, M.A. - Respect Life Coordinator)
The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith and renews, strengthens and deepens our incorporation into the Mystical Body of Christ. It makes the Church one body, showing us the importance of each member of the Church, the Rich and the Poor alike. With Faith as our compass and the Eucharist as our inspiration, come explore practical ways to carry out this mission of service to others.

Truth in Sacred Art (presented by David Clayton - Artist-in-Residence and Fellow at St. Thomas More College)
The Church has long recognized the power of the sacred arts to communicate truth and to turn souls devoutly toward Christ. Through great works of art, architecture and music, the Church's mission of worship, catechesis and evangelization can be realized and to the world a deeper understanding of the mysteries of faith revealed. And it is that genuine sacred art that draws man to adoration, to prayer, and to the love of the Divine Beauty Himself.

Life in the Spirit Seminar (two-part, presented by multiple speakers)
What does it mean to live your Catholic Faith in the power of the Holy Spirit? Come learn and experience it first-hand with this seminar, which has been in use for over 40 years. You'll be surprised how this outpouring of the Holy Spirit can affect every aspect of your life, empowering a stronger faith and deeper love for the Lord.
